It was actually a small group of Lower Broadway homeowners who blocked anything that WASN’T high rent. Their pie in the sky plan was to get Trader Joe’s to come to that spot. So it’s the opposite, they were actively trying to gentrify the neighborhood.

Last I heard, the ringleader of the opposition moved to a luxury apartment downtown. That lot currently has trucks on it, obviously worse than a WAWA.

Hey man, just because I thought that guy was weird and had a terrible approach to whatever he was trying to do doesn’t mean I think it’s a good idea for you to go patrolling at night in a superhero mask. I still worry you’re going to stumble onto something you shouldn’t and get yourself stabbed or shot. I recently attended a community chat event with law enforcement and lo and behold, everyone there was dressed in formal gear. Cops have different attire for different occasions as do other humans and other professions // ways of being. Literally everyone.
