Bellos gets completely full 5-7pm, when Ive been. I havent been later than 9 since before covid so Im not sure when they actually close. Google says 12 but thats not reliable. They havent opened their upstairs in years though.

I think the only successful bar downtown in McGoverns which does stay open until 1 and does have people until closing. Good variety in the crowd as well.

I wouldn’t say squandered being as our city’s upward trajectory is so recent. However it is being tremendously undervalued and this probably won’t change until gentrification hits harder and tbh these many Black & Brown businesses turn White.

I personally like Ras, but Jesus Christ is his administration borderline incompetent.

They'll do the opposite of what he says and proclaim it's what he wants, and then he'll have to call a meeting and force everyone involved to work things out like it's a gotdamn high school intervention.

I want rapid development the same way Jersey City has seen a crazy amount of development in the past few decades.

Yeah right now the Halsey Street businesses are trying to get support from Newark Alliance, but it's a slow process considering how little time these guys have outside of their business + with them not being prioritized by the decision makers for whatever reason.

It still blows my mind that during Covid, the city did not do outdoor dining on Halsey. So much incompetence.

If you can get them to pivot that way it would be wondrous. Then they can go back to the HPC and point to the Walker House, RBG Hall, and Eleven80 as complementary. The two tower examples in this article may be helpful: https://www.dezeen.com/2019/06/07/art-deco-architecture-design-projects/

If my calendar doesn't fill up I'll join y'all. Just publicize the time here.

Nah it was my idea to meet with them, I wanted to with the design and convince them to make the tower art deco with the same body design. I figure with our minds and their architects we can create something for Newark from the people who live eat and sleep in Newark. Who knows we might be able to live in the tower for free 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️
