IANAL but
If this were to pass and CMP was bought out the contracts would likely have to be completed to term. Whether or not Pine Tree Power would be interested in continuing the program is another question.

"onlyinyourstate[dot]com" is a clickbait article factory.
Nobody should reference or post anything from that source.

Apparently the presence of cop looking cars promotes safer driving. In all honesty it’s pretty easy to tell during the day if it’s a cop or not. But at night your kinda guessing

I love the Katahdin area, but this is a strange yuppie Dem issue. We already have BSP and Katahdin woods and water. You can do other type of lake and hiking stuff in the area. We don't have a problem lol Someone wants a symbolic political victory when the land is being well used for a mix of things and the core areas are protected.

Nope. Cut the cord several years ago, have not looked back since.
The catch is that all the cable channels we got were flukes on Spectrum's end.

It seems like more restaurants used to be open in the winter, and Bar Harbor has gotten a lot more seasonal as year round renters were displaced when their landlords all converted to AirB&Bs

I remember talking to the man at the visitor center in Millinocket in fall 21, and they said they had been pushing hard to “lobby” for Katahdin to be the next US NP. He was very into the idea. It’s gorgeous up there so I understand.

I've been to Bar Harbor most, but I've been to Belfast and South Portland on a few occasions. That being said, I'm partial to Bar Harbor. Mostly because of nostalgia.

Georgetown, because of Reid State Park. We used to go there a lot when I was a kid, many happy memories.

Came to say Bar Harbor specifically in the winter.
It's been almost a decade since I lived and worked there but the day everything shut down was perfect.

Baxter is cool and unique because of its natural beauty but most particularly because use is regulated and limited. I was hiking one of the trails several years ago and talked with someone from Pennsylvania who remarked on how beautiful and unique it was and how nice not to have crowds.

This gives me the image of a bunch of old guys sitting on stumps and directly whittling and planing pine logs.

We've been headed backwards since mask mandates were removed. Especially in healthcare settings. Covid isn't something that's kept at bay with a singular solution. Multiple mitigation are needed and it's not going to get any better without them. Look at the rates of folks getting bolstered still because it's dismal. Vaccines also only mitigate severity or acute infection and don't do anything about long term outcomes.

Our social policies screw up the immune system, and throw off viral seasons and reduce herd immunity more than anything.

> And, I weakens your immunity during that time. Mind boggling. Your immune response is sensative after vaccines, not magically stronger.
This is not true.

Covid infection causes lowered immune response, not vaccines

I [m32] live in Biddeford and have some interest overlap (Pathfinder/DnD, spooky ghosts, cats, comedy, vidya games, camping, etc.). Happy to meet up for a beer at Pint & Pawn or Lucky Pigeon and see if we "click" if you're still looking to expand your social circle.

Autoimmune disorders can definitely be jumpstarted by an infection (virus or bacteria). That include things like RA but also Type 1 diabetes, celiac disease, and others

I never got into fishing, but my uncle was literally the fish whisperer. He had a place on a small lake in NH (he's dead now, lived to 90+), and he had named the fish individually. He knew where to find each one, and would catch/release them just to maintain contact. He'd go out on a new lake and just sit for an hour watching, pull out some obscure lure, and in about three minutes land a gigantic bass or trout or whatever he was after. He would literally yell at the fish if they weren't biting, and they'd wake up and hit his line. It was amazing to watch. I miss that dude.
