I think it's a bad idea. Right now the vast majority of the tourists go to Acadia National Park and leave the rest of the states wild areas relatively peaceful for the rest of us. If this area becomes a national park, it will get very crowded very quickly and ruin the sense of wilderness. The only upside would be a revitalization for towns like Millinocket, which would likely occur with increasing tourism.

I think it's pretty difficcult to track any of these trends at this point.

The issue becomes very complex when you consider:

  1. Covid, Flu, and RSV are all circulating
  2. There's a significant overlap of symptoms
  3. Testing is far less accurate than it needs to be to actually determine statistics

I do know that a much larger percentage of people I know are either currrently sick or have recently been sick. Yes, I know that's a very subjective statement, but think about the people you know and how many of them have been sick in the past 2 mos.

Everyone I mention it to agrees when they think about it, and those that are sick have no idea what they were sick WITH...they just know that they're sick.

As someone who drives a car that people constantly mistake for a cop car, I've thought about this myself. There's nothing more annoying than when you're trying to do 15mph over the speed limit, and the person in front of you thinks you're there to pull them over.

I keep an eye on China. The population is huge and the mutating virus is having a field day right now. They are looking at the second wave hitting Beijing. This one's got a Norovirus component that is hitting the youngest now. I'm honestly waiting to get the next booster when we get a hold of this new variation. Hopefully soon.

Oh, so it's not just my moms place?

Last summer a coon flew out from under my mothers porch and attacker her cats. I shot it and the cats were okay. But then all this winter two more of them her constantly hissing at her and baring teeth at her whenever she tried to use her porch. Now this?
