Because the baby isn't viable, but isn't threating the mother. If you made it that long in this state especially, it's a wanted pregnancy. So you go to an appointment and the doctor tells you that if your baby was to manage to survive birth than it would suffocate and die right after. The doctor recommends terminating the pregnancy but you're after the 24 week mark and they can't do anything about it. Now you get to either spend the rest of your pregnancy dealing with the fact that you are carrying a baby that will die horribly (which is pretty messed up) or if you're lucky enough you can afford to make a trip to another state. This bill would change that and allow the doctor in Maine and the patient to make that call without government interference.

24 weeks is quite generous, I think this is fine and fair. I also think the mother being in danger afterwards is fair reasoning for a later term abortion.

Why do you guys wanna abort at such late stages unless it's necessary? (Honest question) I just don't get it. At the same time, I don't think I'd ever opt for an abortion myself, but you do you its harms me 0%

Be prepared for a lot of power outages. I live on the Sebago / Standish border (the other side of the lake) and have experienced 7 power outages so far in 2023.

Like many smaller towns, the people who never left tend to have their politics lean towards red, while younger transplants tend to lean blue. I'm seeing an overall slow shift towards blue though.

If it has shipped then it is in the mail and will take as long as regular mail. So 1-3 business days.

They don't have a separate mailing system for IDs
