When I say GENERALLY, I mean generally, don't twist my words, you can look up meaning in dictionary. Because there is SEEMINGLY contradition between intended purpose of the OP's list and the including this movie, I asked why? Get it now?

If you cannot figure out how to do what you want to do, then you are gonna be miserable. Its likely that folks in that situation are doing things currently that do not serve their goals/ambitions.

"The secret is not considered a good motivational movie" by whom? you ?
Is this like written in the stone?
It is a good motivational movie for Op. I know you don't get it, but it says it right there in the title.
Disrespecting OP's taste in movies. Just because it's a movie you don't like. I mean come on you are better that that.

And you still don't get it. The question was primary for OP to answer and the question was asked, because The Secret is not generally considered good motivational movie, but rather esoterical instant cook-up to make money from vulnerable people.

I think the pebble in your shoe is your attitude, your resentments, your negative self-talk. All that will wear you down before you even get started.

You can mitigate the bad decisions by learning from those who came before you. That is why university education is so important.

To distill this down to a phrase: Tenacity and gratitude. Henry Winkler said that’s what got him where he is in an interview with Marc Maron and I think about it daily.

Yeah, but sometimes a bad judgement can cost you so much that you will never recover enough to use whatever you learned.
Case in point, Richard Nixon from the picture. (I know it’s from Frost/Nixon movie, and that’s Frank Langella)

I thought it was don't let little things distract you from the big picture (cut out the pebble in your shoe instead of bearing it)

It's included just because Op likes the movie. Tha'ts it . Different people have different tastes.
