Damn.. that is some progress.. congratulations! But I wondered always what is it about Yoga that makes some people do it regularly?

I don't know how to work on myself, but that's for me to figure out.

I did manage to put both boil and potato into one short reply, didn't I? I wish I could claim it was intentional though.

Tom Morello wrote a scathing piece about it. Hard self own.

I specifically didn't argue that. Would you spurn wisdom because it might not apply to some people who read it? Your call, but I wouldn't understand it. Would it be easier if we just put out a browser extension that stamped "I don't know who needs to hear this, but..." in front of every piece of advice? Couldn't you just imagine it being there instead?..so you don't miss out on what might apply to you by wasting your time thinking about who it doesn't apply to?

Right? All it boils down to, people expecting you to have their same values and priorities because they have potato imaginations.

We all have our own talents in life. Sometimes others find what theirs is sooner than other, but I can totally relate to this. I struggle nonstop with how my body looks. For the longest time I weighed a certain weight, went to college, never gained the ‘freshman 15,’ but then when I became pregnant of course I gained weight. Now I struggle with how much my body has changed and constantly compare myself to others who have had multiple kids and I feel are in better shape then I am. It hard, all the time. There is so much in society that is telling us we should be doing this or that by this age, or having this many kids, be married by that age, look this way…..How can you not help compare yourself and question when your life doesn’t go according to what you see all the time? It’s a horrible way to think and live and an every day battle, but you are YOU! Your own individual person. Shine that light that you’re given and take your own time to do big things in life!

First, good job losing weight! I'm apt to celebrate a victory when I hear one!
And thank you for agreeing with me! Though the downvotes I got might indicate you're the minority. I've just never found "Ignore the Haters!" to be helpful advice, let alone motivating. How we perceive criticism isn't a conscious choice: It's the result of a lifetime of experiences.

I believed this until I got cancer and then my mind set shifted from living for the future to living in the present moment. Too many people are trapped in this ideology.

Nododdy judges you, but some people judge you.

Yeah I surprisingly agree with this... some of these other comments are like “Nobody will judge you, don’t worry! Fat people inspire me!”
Sure they do, bro.
Plus speaking as someone who’s overweight and losing weight from dieting(17lbs down so far), I don’t want to be anyone’s inspiration or anyone’s laughing stock. Being fat and working out to get fit isn’t some glamorous feat. Mind your business(Not directed at you.)

A coffee shop, I wish! I live in one of the wealthiest zip codes in the U.S. and we have crap for gyms. It’s all boutique studios or 24 hour fitness. I can name a handful of high end gyms in the Portland metro area and not a single one here in San Diego.

The gyms probably not going to do the social side of things for you . Everyone just does their own thing with their own thoughts . But maybe your gym has a coffee shop for a visit after the workout :)

As overused as this statement is, don’t let the haters get you down. There’s always at least 1 person who will make a negative remark about something you did with good intentions. In this case, I fully believe you did more good work than you’ll know 👊🏼
