'I wasted my 20s and my 30s, and most of my 40s, being depressed. And then I realized that the only reason depression happens is because of hope. When you're young, there's all this pressure to get a great job, get married, have kids, buy a house, and you worry that you're not making it happen fast enough, and maybe you never will. And then one day you wake up and say, "Huh... I guess none of that happened." All you have to do is outlast your depression.'

If you “do enough”, you probably wouldn’t have the sense of life not being what it’s supposed to be like.
This is awful advice.

try to study for 15 minutes then take a break then study for another 15 minutes. in total 30 minutes a day. you should watch videos and take notes on your subject of your exam and try to teach it to someone if that helps you understand the material. just try to study 30 min every day. remember that the more you help your self now the better your results are gonna be in 1.5 months. ;)

Usually when random people online track you down, it’s a bad thing.

Most of it is public record anyways. If it's included in the report (and not certain things like SSN's or medical info), it's public record and anyone can get a copy of it if they'd like.

I assume some people reached out to tell her she's a bar mom or something.

Police in the UK, relatively, recently got hauled over tha coals for sharing pictures in private WhatsApp groups of murder victims.
People are shitty.

I think it's healthy for anyone to celebrate their successes. The idea that you shouldn't get pleasure from external validation is kind of ridiculous, along with a few of the other strictures of the various Anons. People are people, addicts or not

Yeah. I haven't heard much about trying to restrict Narcan lately. A few years back it was a more prominent talking point. I knew people complaining that we have to spend resources on drug addicts. As if people with addiction issues aren't worth saving or are subhuman.
It's frustrating that the US often treats addiction as a moral failure rather than a medical condition.

I don't feel like they did that, the comment was positive.
Your reaction was negative, and brought that energy in

I'd understand not getting involved. You cant see her face but helping involves a risk of being stabbed by a needle

I think it's becoming less of an issue, especially since the fentanyl overdoses as of late.
But yeah, Narcan is a god damn miracle drug.

No, I think it’s a bad idea to feed this need for external validation because it isn’t healthy for addicts, which is why NarcAnon advises against it.

But why? Like there's no negativity against addicts here on this post, only support and compliments, so why turn it into something it doesn't need to be?

Because they're probably referencing how drug addicts are talked about in general, not anything said on this particular thread

Right here on this post, I don't see anything but wholesome replies so like yeah, I don't see the point in the previous comment.
I know it's disputed by some, but not by all.

isn't narcan a scientology organization? turning from an addict to a scilon doesn't seem like much of an improvement
