i can only speak from my experience but if anyone is worried of looking stupid or anything like that to pursue your goal, work on that first. that should have been the least of your problem.

Not all ODs are heroin, not all people who OD are bad people who deserve to die from their addiction.

People with legitimate prescriptions can develop tolerance, can unintentionally take too many, can lose their prescription and switch to cheaper and more unsafe alternatives.

Purdue and other big pharma corps made bank pushing addictive prescriptions on people for any pain whatsoever. Have some empathy.

Certain drugstores in Canada will give you a free kit. All you need to do is ask at the pharmacy counter. They say to keep it in your purse or a bag or whatever and not to leave it in the dash of your car .. I happened to mention to the pharmacist about putting it in my glove compartment, but she said the temperature range here (-20⁰C or so in winter and 35⁰C or so in summer) wouldn't be good for the narcan/naloxone and could spoil it.

It’s only mentioned in the photo, but if you are around certain crowds or populations where opiods are common, I highly suggest you carry around Narcan or some other Naloxone medication on you. The Narcan spray in particular is easy and safe to use, and it could potentially save someone’s life.

Here’s more info from the CDC and a few reaources on where to get Naloxone. It’s a prescribed medication but there are ways to obtain it for emergency use as well.

Thank you! So many comments missing the point of this advice.

For those in a shitty place, it’s not “thanks I’m cured”, it’s that things won’t get better in an instant, so you best keep yourself in as positive a state of mind as you can to create, recognize, and/or take advantage of a chance to improve your situation.

If you’re not in an objectively shitty place, then it can be taken as a simple reminder to appreciate what you have.

Nah man. In the last 8-9 years I've not made a single meaningful connection with any other human being. I used to be different. Whatever social interactions I have are family or friends who I made before that time. And the more I meet those friends, they stop wanting to hang out with me because I'm clearly doing something wrong. But I have no idea what it is.

I do complain a lot and try to act like I know everything which is obnoxious. Maybe I'll start there.
