yeah. . .not being a plumber myself it is hard for me to know how soon there will be a problem up there. the old guy that owned the house previously did a lot of things himself(hey that's great I'm trying to do the same) and so the quality of the work is kinda all over the place.

I would use a 5 or 12V battery pack with 5 or 12V LED tape or a single 5/12V LED bulb. You probably won't need more than 5W which is 1A at 5V or 0.42A at 12V. A 10 Ah 5V pack can provide 1A for 10 hours.

This is the same mechanism used on an air hose. Just pull the ring back, and it will disengage the ball bearings or rods that lock it in place. Don't use tools on it or you will break something.

Yeah. I think it's probably just stuck. Will try some WD-40 after work today.

Are you right-hand-loosening it?
>Had one of the other guys take it when I wasn't looking, he was all pissed off because it wouldn't work for him - didn't tell the idiot the fittings were left-hand thread!!!

The usual procedure is to do the plumbing correctly, then drywall nicely over it and paint. This will look much better for somewhere between hours and many years. Yes, someday you may have to cut it out but overall its likely cheaper and probably less work than a proper access door install.

If you are just trying to get rid of the grill and remove the hose you shouldn't have to worry about removing the adapter. Simply pull the collar back and pull the hose out like this .

I did a little searching and this is exactly want this is. I don't know what this guy is talking about with a tool to get it off. Hose it with some PB blaster and slide that ring back.

Its so the quick disconnect fitting doesn't get over tightened into the cylinders valve. Either install it carefully till the black insert starts to flex and stop or break the plastic insert and extract qd with needlenose pliers/vice grips at later point in time.
It doesn't need to be removed from tank to fill it with gas. There's a variety of standardized lp fill valves/fittings that your lp refueling station can push gas through.

Or it releases toxic fumes when heated.

I wouldn't suggest this until you figure out exactly what material you're dealing with, you might need to get the raw material in liquid state, and then it just hardens by being exposed to air

Ooo get the gear off, 3D scan it, and print replacements!
Edit: if it's just speed, might make more sense to not bother and just grab some Bluetooth speed/cadence sensors instead they're cheap.

Thanks, I don’t have a printer, but I’ll keep this open as an option.

Oof, that’s probably 10 times what the bike cost brand new. I’m currently carving out a replacement gear with my dremel. Fingers crossed.

I’d prefer all original, but alternatives won’t kill me. Thank you, this is a nice workable option.

Yeah that's probably how I would approach this scenario, that or just cut the hose off, I mean if he's removing the whole setup then why bother trying to keep either the grill or the hose totally intact?

Sorry forgot a latch system to attach it when hanging up. Magnets on the plywood and a screwed up L bracket on the ceiling
DONGivaDam t1_jcev5qa wrote
Piece of nice plywood, cut to size of access panel, prime twice , use hinges and a block to attach piece to ceiling now you have made a cheap access panel. Want to get fancy get some cornerbeams for where the sheetrock meets the plywood and spackle to a nice clean edge, then paint the whole ceiling.
