Yeah, that's my point. Build your own utility, your taxes go up to pay for that... but your utility bills go down. Basically a wash over the long term on a present value basis. Municipally owned power isn't a panacea.

Sikorsky L? They just signed a multi-decade deal to build the King Stallion like 2 years ago… Also Sikorsky is in the running for the FARA program too, with the RaiderX.
Sikorsky is doing just fine. IMO the USA gave the Valor from Bell the nod because they need to make sure both manufacturers keep running. Cheaper to spread the contracts to both and keep both lines open, than to shutter a manufacturer and then lose all that institutional knowledge/expertise, and take years to ramp up again in a time of war.

Yes but it was almost 20 years ago. Same cop followed me home one night and pulled me over 50 feet from my house to scream at me because he thought my stock license plate light was "blinding him and other drivers". The lens was yellowed with age and covered in grime. That cop was a shit head who was frequently so drunk on duty that he couldn't get out of his car.

9 or 10 years ago my wife did. We had a Durango that we bought in AZ and it didn't come with a front plate holder.

Here is something else to piss you off:
The state is holding back billions of promised money to these programs....
Expect a very large strike in April/May.

I have. It was at a seatbelt checkpoint. I had to affix a plate and go to the DMV with it on within a week or I would have to pay the fine. Never drove without one again.

How long has Wallingford owned their utility. If they bought it in 1930 then it wouldn't be reflected in tax rates today. The maintenance and expenses would be presumably covered by utility bills.
The problem is if you take another town and suggest they embark on their own 'municipal power' program, then they would need to either build their own utility. The cost of which they would have to fund via taxes or via surcharges on utility bills going forward. Not apparent that such a situation would be cheaper for residents over the long run.

Trumbull. I grew up there. I'm 30 now, and not special needs, but the program seemed nice growing up. As far as I know it's still great.

There are multiple places in your account you can see your usage, rather than pull up a bill, bring up one of those charts in your account?
like /u/zgrizz stated, I've never had a problem looking at my account/pulling a bill off the website. Do you have some kind of pop-up blocker that may be preventing the pdf of the bill from downloading?

I know there is going to be a Birdcode (hot chicken) restaurant in Canton as the owner just posted a construction video today. Not sure where though.

I think in this case Darien but I would reach out to them specifically. The state is required to educate your child-in my town (new Canaan) if the school is not able to-you will receive vouchers for a private special education based school. New Canaan has a ton of interventions and help for autistic children.

If I recall correctly it was maybe $60 a payroll, so if you pay twice a month, $120 a month. It might have been cheaper. And ADP is the granddaddy of payroll services in the country so competitors might be cheaper. I did all the research for my family which was using an agency but we didn’t switch because at that point siblings didn’t want to.
https://www.adp.com/resources/articles-and-insights/articles/n/nanny-payroll-services.aspx
They call it “nanny payroll services,” but explain that it’s for household employees.
When I went to find this link by googling, I saw that there are a lot more companies doing it now. One key element you want is for the service to handle all the irs end of year forms and accept liability for errors
Another thing to plan for when you oversee this yourself is to line up substitute caregivers when yours takes vacations or calls in sick. That takes a little work and there was an agency that was willing to provide short term like that. You just have to call around. I can’t remember the agency and there are so many, and they change a lot.
I really wanted to make the switch myself but it was a family decision
Edit:
Just some additional thoughts. “Homemaker Companion agency,” a term that is defined in statute and are companies overseen by the Consumer Dept, not the health dept, add a huge amount of overhead cost. So, for example, my family member required really major assistance because he was partially paralyzed. The agency charged over $90k a year. And almost anyone can open a homemaker agency- no credentials.
Our caregivers were paid garbage. The mark up had to be roughly 60-percent at least.
We could have given a caregiver a massive raise and still cut tens of thousands off the yearly cost of care even with the cost of a payroll service to cover payroll. To me it was a no brainer, especially if a family member is close by and can take care of managing it.
