Our head of RR (rodent resources) is an Eastern Gray. Mr. Fluffles does not take kindly to that, I would suggest withdrawing your application.

Milford.
There's a metro north station right there in downtown. Plenty of restaurants for you and your wife to try as well. If you have kids the school system is good. There's beaches too.
I usually take the train from Bridgeport for 75 to 95 minutes depending on if it's a weekday or the weekend, so my guess is that Milford is 1 hr, 45 minutes. It can't be more than 2 hours, since that's the distance from New Haven.
I googled the drive to West Hartford. It says 57 minutes, but I would say 90 minutes realistically. No more than 2 hours if traffic was awful. I went to college close to West Hartford over in New Britain, and sometimes drop off day had traffic, but it never took us more than 1 hr and 45 minutes from Trumbull.

You don't need poison that will eventually end up in our soil and water. Build a better mouse trap.

For someone like myself who is ignorant on what is currently going on down there would you mind summing it up or suggest some topic to search?

Lived on the shore of Guilford during Sandy and got absolutely wrecked. I’m sure we’re due for another in no time

Is there anything legally preventing me from amassing an army of wild rodents?

Half the reason I moved away from the immediate shore after growing up there my whole life, was the over population/traffic our once upon a time small quaint beach towns now have.

Sounds like you’re looking for an exchange of a specific kind of ideas. Not very free thinking of you

Thank you both for putting into words what I have struggled with for the last 4 years. I just moved back to Connecticut after a 4 year stint in South Carolina. Simply put "There is something wrong here" is absolutely correct and when you are surrounded in it, it is all you see. I felt like I had a target on my face and they knew I wasn't one of them. I was not able to understand or tolerate the way of life and had to leave. I have been "home" for two weeks now and this is the most relaxed and happiest I have felt in years.

10 years is too long for non-violent offenses. Imagine applying for a job & having to explain something you did around the time of the Boston Marathon bombing (10 years) or before Trump was elected (7 years). We all demand immediate forgiveness for every sin we’ve ever committed but expect others to suffer for a decade?

This also depends on how many people are going. Train works going by yourself. But if there are 4 of you, that $7 ticket turns into $28 and you would be better off driving together.
