Ernesto's in Ellicott City is great, the shrimp enchiladas are delicious.

“Mexican food” in the US is not Mexican cuisine, and even though the guy who owns this food truck is Guatemalan and the name is Guatemalan, it is not Guatemalan cuisine. It’s US Mexican food. They sell cheeseburgers for Christ’s sake.
I think OP will like it.

I've liked trattoria e pizzeria da Enrico and Coalfire as a NY style fan. Not as impressed with Tino's.

We really like Eataliano https://www.eatalianomarket.com/
Tino's is also good but a little pricey.

So I really enjoy cinco de Mayo, but idk if it’s the best Mexican food (I’ve never really had “authentic” Mexican food). Over the summer a new place opened called salt and lime, I love the food from here.

Interesting. I've had good Peruvian in Catonsville. Any Salvadorean places you recommend?

It doesn't seem like there's as much Mexican food here since a lot of it is also Peruvian, Salvadorean, etc. but we've consistently had good experiences with Taqueria Los Primos. As long as they're not super packed the food is done pretty quickly too.

This is such a dumb comment. People shouldn’t be rejected opportunities just because the people before them didn’t have those opportunities.

The one thing that I haven't really seen in theses comments regarding schools is you should find a home as close to the school of your choice as possible. The reason being is that HoCo is notorious for ridiculous school redistricting, e.g. you could have neighbors on a single street going to two different schools (one close and one far). Furthermore, even if you have one child going to one school, the sibling may be forced to attend a different school further away years later. Best of luck.

Wow...kinda surprised this wasn't a thing already. Way back in the late 90s we could do dual-enrollment at the local community college where I'm from in Appalachian Ohio, not exactly the most progressive place. And one could do full time both Junior and Senior years to graduate with an associates degree...HCPSS's program one has to commit early in 9th grade to get an associates and can only do full time in Senior year. Its strange Howard County's program isn't as good 25 years later.

We might just end up with representatives that are actually representative of our community instead of a bunch of retirees

Right, I only thought it was random because the article does not directly address this issue, but appears to be the indirect result of the problems raised in the article.

There's some buzz being generated in other SM forums. In the past, I'd only seen a passing comment in the village newsletter. Seems like people are getting involved now--individuals rather than organizations.

Think about it this way. If you were looking for this sort of job and saw what the board is like to a candidate they vetted and hired, would you want to work there? We’ll be lucky to have an effective or engaged CEO ever again after this fiasco.
