But is the no coverage thing really mint mobiles fault or due to the fact the major network backbone provider they piggyback on (tmobile) had no coverage where you were? In other words, if wou were a "first class" regular Tmobile subscriber, would your service in that same location have been any better?

All these smaller mvno lower cost providers are piggybacking on either Verizon, Tmobile, or AT&T. I would expect that your service and coverage is going to be largely dictated by which one(s) of those guys they piggyback on more than anything else, am i right or wrong?

Parts of deep creek I have had cell service with T-mobile and parts I have had absolutely nothing, same with my friends who had Verizon at the time. It has been three years since I've been.

As far as places I've been surprised where service sucked, no not at all, only been exceptional cases far from home.

The board hasn’t said which, itself, is part of the problem. They are supposed to represent and talk with their neighbors not act in secrecy.

Long answer: https://www.themerriweatherpost.org/post/how-poor-judgement-ego-and-miscommunication-have-led-the-ca-board-to-consider-firing-ca-president

TLDR: the board doesn’t understand their role, has tried to micromanage Lakey, and she has pushed back on those attempts.

Mint mobile works great. It did lose signals in the countryside of eastern shore. I was told Verizon is the only thing that works there

Was there ever a location that wasn't as rural that surprised you with how little cell reception you get?

It's been years since I've been back but I think Wisp in Deep Creek had bad cell reception even with Verizon. I'm thinking out loud since I'll be in that area next month.

Thank you for your input.

I have been using Mint Mobile for several years now. Was on AT&T and T-Mobile before that. Currently using the $30 unlimited plan and have not noticed any difference or degradation in quality.

Currently work in Columbia, also lived there for 2 years while with Mint. Never had issues.

you will be fine in Columbia, don't expect that to be the same if you go anywhere rural on vacation. Mint uses the Tmobile network which I use and is completely fine 99% of the time, though I've been on vacation and just had zero cell service when people I'm with who have verizon have full coverage. To be fair though the places were the middle of no where on ski trips or in national parks. Both places I am not near often, but the chances of me needing a cell phone for an emergency there are quite high compared to being home.

CA provides a whole bunch of services and amenities to Columbia. Columbia Association offers a vast array of recreational, cultural and community services.
CA maintains nearly 3,600 acres of open space as a permanent asset for residents. Neighborhood amenities include lakes, parks, tot lots, basketball and tennis courts and 95 miles of walking, jogging and biking pathways. Gyms, outdoor pools, after school programs for kids, art center, Columbia archives, etc.

The board has never explained why they are treating her like they are which is a major part of the problem. But its because they don't understand how a volunteer board of directors should properly oversee a professionally run organization and instead have been trying to micromanage her and the rest of the staff - she pushed back on those efforts and they responded negatively.

My sister went to River Hill and by the time I went to high school, we were redistricted to Atholton. Pretty much what everyone else has said is true: there are the top top schools, but it’s all about wealth and those schools tend not to be very diverse. Comparing academic rigor, extra curriculars, etc, my sister and I had super similar experiences. HCPSS is great overall, so I wouldn’t focus too much on each school’s ranking tbh. I think the major differences were in our social experiences. There was less of an academic competitive environment at AHS and there were more walks of life represented in the student body and staff. All HoCo schools do a good job of setting up high school kids for success, but a healthy environment really helps kids take advantage of that better.

I can’t wait for Boyd to sue CA for wrongful termination, win a literal lake full of money, and a bunch of CA amenities go away for lack of funding, impacting all residents, and cause dues to increase, while the 10 or whatever board members who caused all of this literally face zero consequences.

They are livestreamed on YouTube. Tomorrow night's meeting (1/12) starts at 7 pm. Residents who signed up in advance for resident speak out can attend either in-person or are provided a Zoom link.

You can attend virtually or in person. To be allowed to speak, you needed to have signed up by 5:00 PM earlier today.

To be honest though, I have no idea how the board will handle resident's speak out tomorrow. I imagine it will be heated and expect people who didn't sign up in advance will demand to speak anyways.

It is common for feral cats to go into sewers. I don't know how they manage it, but when I lived in the city I saw them often going into the sewer. No clue how they get out. I am not sure if kittens would be in the sewers also, I would also agree, if possible try to put a board down just in case something was stuck and trying to get out.

Note - I needed to move out of the city because I was taking in too many strays :-)
