Lived near Harvard square for about 6-1/2 years. I regard RHT as a place where mostly tourists or visitors go at this point. Exceptionally average. Much better spots in the area to grab a bite or drink.

The greatest letdown was moving to Boston to find that this is true of every restaurant.

Their prices aren't what they used to be...

Agreed. But worst offender in the Harvard Square area is Waypoint.

Not as good as it was when Scelfo was working there. (And yes, I'm aware of the allegations — knowing about them makes me not want to eat at his current places even though the food is good).

They used to be great. The pandemic saw 100% turnover. Literally no retention of skills. Now, well, it's a whole other place.

I liked it but there are other nice places in that area. Just went to the Harvest for the first time and it was great

This sums up more than a few restaurants in greater Boston.

I’d also look into pet insurance to see if they’d cover part or all of the procedure.

Omg thank you. I literally tried every single one that was recommended, and for me Curio had the best coffee

Spay/Neuter Voucher Program | Mass.gov
Friends of Animals | Get A Certificate - Friends of Animals
Check the above two links for help, but double check with the vet first to make sure that they'll accept the voucher you're going to use. About 8 years ago now I was able to get my dog neutered with the FoA voucher at the clinic down the street. Saved me several hundred dollars

>Is this truly the going rate for the area? Has something substantial changed in veterinary medicine in the last decade that explains the cost?
There's a few things happening here:
- High cost of doing business in the Boston area (as others have pointed out, the price drops off once you get outside of 495)
- There's a nationwide shortage of veterinary workers which has also driven up costs
Your best bet is to search outside the city as others have suggested. Animal Rescue League and the MSPCA do offer subsidized spay and neuter services but both have months long waiting lists and limit their services by income, breed (e.g pit mixes), and/or zip code of residence.

Also “Somerville Plant Exchange” which is entirely about swapping or giving away plants and gardening items. They require all trades/pickups to be in Somerville, though just FYI.

I just found a post here about the 2019 stickers and the poster was complaining that new rules said you had to remove the old stickers.
