I'm happy with this;
Culligan HSH-C135 Hand-Held Filtered Massage Showerhead, 10,000 Gallon, Chrome
Amazon has it for $78.50, but I paid $51.99 a couple of years ago.

yeah not against treated water, I've just heard that the water is relatively hard, which can dry out hair. Definitely not a safety thing, just a cosmetic one for me See: https://www.reddit.com/r/CambridgeMA/comments/kr6kv8/comment/gi7wmlk/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Cambridge water is perfectly fine, pretty much all cities and towns treat their water

tbf only one of my plants is sensitive to it and its known for being sensitive to hard water. And IDK I've just heard complaints about it. Its not like unsafe or anything I'm sure

Maybe something is wrong with your pipes. I have dozens of plants and only the orchids need filtered water. Where did you hear that Cambridge water is bad?

Someone mentioned MAPP and they will do it completely free of charge. MGH has a clinic as well - they can work with insurance or you can choose to not use insurance and there is no cost ime.

It’s always looked like a throwback to the 1950’s. They have good events (they have a downstairs) and it’s a good place.
It closed for a bit down to the pandemic-

Bluegrass Night and Open Mic Nights are also pretty great, at least in the past in my experience.

I do not know if they still do it but the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers on Cambridge St runs (or used to) free anonymous STD testing. The actual location for the testing was in the oddly placed SCATV building in the middle of Union Sq in Somerville. They'll ask for a name, but they do not ask for ID.

MGH has a whole clinic for that if I recall. I think it's supposed to be super quick.

It's not directly in Cambridge, but Planned Parenthood near BU is excellent and accepts all sorts of insurance. They can provide whatever you need

It always looks dead when I walk by. Maybe I just happen to be walking by too early.

Years ago when I first moved here I met friends of mine who were in grad school there after work. I’m the only one in a suit, which I think explains the interaction I had. Friends walk in first, no cover. I start to walk in, and the doorman demands a cover from me. It’s 6pm, no band playing yet, but they will start at 8pm. Well after we’re gone, a fact that doesn’t matter to him.
He insisted that I, and I alone, pay a cover charge. My friends were inside wondering where I went. One eventually came out and heard us, so we bounced.
It was the dumbest doorman interaction I’ve ever had. I’m sure the bar is great based on everyone’s love of it, but I wasn’t feeling like giving them any of my money after that interaction.

Yes, there's a cafeteria in the Koch building that's back up and running. I think all of the campus dining facilities are run by Sodexho or similar - "mediocre on quality and price point" would be their slogan if we required corporations to be honest about such things.

Cambridge water is great, but you are accurate that it is harder than typical New England water and has a higher pH, and you may notice that in the shower. But also it's winter, there's no humidity, and everything is gonna seem dryer than you might like.
I've never had an issue with plants though.
