Take a look at the T map and Google a few destinations and the times. Coffee shops are everywhere and so are groceries. The north end of Boston is more dense with good restaurants and more central to all of the T lines. Being along or close to one of the lines will make trips easier. If you want to spend more time in Boston, note that to get to the green line you have to transfer if you’re closer to the red line in Cambridge. The green line recently expanded more north so make sure you have an updated map.

If you look at crime statistics, this is one of the safest cities to live in. Lots of people walk around at night safely but still check the crime maps for your specific area.

Cambridge is super doable if you don't drive! Between pedestrian friendly streets, bike lanes, the subway and the bus system you can get just about anywhere in the city. Personally, I'm biased and recommend East Cambridge, but there's tons of walkable neighborhoods and there's tons of labs in the Kendall area which is easy to get to. Just make sure you're looking at subway and bus stops when looking for places to live because there are a few areas in west Cambridge that are a bit more car dependent.

I really think Casey's in Somerville would be a good choice. Check out its Google reviews. I used to be a regular at this place before I stopped drinking during Covid. It has high-tops. Very family oriented. Good food at nice prices. it's a hidden gem. I've seen a lot of birthday celebrations there (a group will reserve a set of tables. There are two corners in the room that are really good for a group get-together).

Remnant Brewing run club meets at the brewery every Wednesday to run at 6:30pm. There is a short (~2mi) and a long (~4mi) option that changes monthly. Runners of all skill levels participate and of course we have some beers after the run!

Not sure what size you are or if it would work for whatever you need them for but I have a pair of steel toed sneakers that I briefly wore while I worked at a grocery store. No longer need them. Feel free to message me if interested.

If you're into morning runs/workouts check out November Project. A subset of us run up Prospect Hill in Somerville every Friday at 6:30 AM. Some of us are faster than others. All abilities welcome. Bonus is we meet for post run donuts at Union Square Donuts.

Right now is the operative phrase. I lived there since 2014 and saw this a number of times. I’m not debating the usefulness of the app, just stating it’s often used for sniping. Have a great weekend!

Right now, the issues shown in East Cambridge are the same as any other neighborhood. Mostly missed trash pickups and potholes, and a few park maintenance issues.

The only complaint about someone other than the city is a for construction truck parked on the sidewalk, which is an obnoxious behavior that should be reported to the city. Though it's more effective to call the police non-emergency number for things like this.
