I'm glad they're back. Ordered from them recently on UE. Those prices were quite a bit higher than i remember. Will have to go there and see whether it's a different rate.

For Indian, Shanti just opened back up in Kendall Square. It is by far the best Indian in the area.

Wait, is Thai Hut in Porter Square open again? I thought they've been gone since COVID.
To answer your question: for about $10 I can get the regular size sub at Al's in Kendall or a HUGE one for $13. At Beantown Tacqueria, a "small" burrito is approximately $10 (maybe $11 with tax?), and I think it costs similar at Olé in Inman. The last time I was at Cambridge Common, the burger with fries was still just under $10, although tax and tip push up that cost. You can get a large pizza for < $10 at Domino's, although usually I'd rather just get slices from Pinocchio's. And if you go to Market Basket, the prepared sandwiches, pasta, and salads are all south of $10, but Daily Table has stupidly cheap prepared food, like $5 for rice and chicken.

All Star Pizza does half a pie for like $8, that’s for cheese though, toppings might be over the $10 mark

I just moved here and both of these places are my go-to spots for good cheap eats within walking distance. Any recs from the menu? Saag paneer and the curry plate have both been good from Punjabi Dhaba (and the samosas are huge!), and I liked the yellow curry from Thai hut.

pro tip: there's an upstairs with plenty of seating! it isn't fancy at all but just go up the stairs and enjoy. if you become a regular, they'll give you the wifi password!
i highly recommend their masala dosha.

I like Thai Hut on Beacon St Somerville. It's mostly a take-out place, but they have a few tables (like 2 or 3). It's really good food. It's not like Similans where it's fancy. I think Thai Hut has a BYOB license.
I'd second Punjabi Dhaba for Indian. It's not fancy or anything, but it's good food and always packed for a reason.

Going to have to try Punjabi Dhaba. Haven't found a go-to place for Indian yet. A lot of really bad Indian restaurants out there. Suburbs seem to have better ones. Any Thai restaurant recommendations?

Some colleges in the city have programs for students to get professional clothes as they start interviewing/co-ops.
I know Wentworth has a program for it. I'd imagine others do as well.

We were spoilt living near it. They had the best Thai seafood dishes and made it authentically spicy. Great fried icecream. They even seasoned my wok for me.

On this topic — not sure if they have a drill press, but you can view their available equipment online. Here’s their website and their equipment list.

Try Punjab Palace. They are in Allston but quick delivery to Cambridge. I know people love Punjabi Dhaba but personally I don’t think it’s very good.
