Your budget is low but I was able to make the high end of that work fairly recently. Though rent has gone up quite a bit even in the past 2 years.

If you are willing to live in a place that’s a bit of a dump with 3 or more roommates (not including yourself), you should be able to find something. But realistically you can’t write off Facebook and Craigslist if you don’t have friends with an open room.

Every accommodation I found when I was living in that area was through friends. And at that price expect some issues with the place…and by issues I mean blatant code violations. I never lived in a nice place but it was good enough for college and grad school.

My boyfriend (phd student) has a spot in his apartment in east cambridge for $875 (or at least that's how much he's paying--not sure if all the rooms in the apartment are the same price). Their roommate just moved out unexpectedly so they need a new person until the end of the lease. If you're interested could you provide more details about yourself and what you are looking for?

(Idk how to prove I'm an actual person and not a scammer, but if you dm me I can provide whatever information you need).

(And I agree with the other commenter that that is a very low budget for the area. My boyfriend's apartment is unusually cheap.)

The 'patient' in this case is a learning tool. It's not a regular cleaning appointment. You get nearly free dental procedures, they get you in chair for 15 to 20 hours over the course of a couple months. That's the trade. That's why you have never experienced anything like this before. If you have dental insurance then this really isn't "worth it", unless you want to help dental assistants. If you have no insurance, then this is a great deal, provided you have the time.

Just like if you can afford to rent a jet ski, sitting in a 2 hr time share pitch for a jet ski rental isn't worth it.

How do you think your own dentist learned? This is a requirement of medical programs and they are supervised. And it takes a while because students are learning and they are likely other exams and what not they are doing. For privileged people like you this might be absurd but this is a well needed service for the underserved who go years without any dental hygiene leading to all kinds of medical issues. If you want to be an ass, do it on your own time but don’t shit in someone trying to make an impact.
