John's in Watertown is my go to, I'll say they're not a fast service. They're quality and good price though and to me that makes it worth it me. I know they don't do wedding dresses anymore, and it's been a while since I had a dress tailored, but she did an amazing job last time I brought one in.

you aren't getting subpar care. it's because multiple students work on you and it's incredibly slow with a preceptor going over their every move, then they come back for ~15 mins, do what the preceptor says, then they go back to the preceptor...

yeah. for a cleaning at harvard dental school it is like 5 visits and 2-4 hours per visit, which takes about a month. it's a ridiculous waste of time, but it's cheap, so for the cash poor but time rich, it works out.

i made the mistake of going there once as a med student years ago.

It's not. There's zero reason to return so much just for cleaning. It's not worth it. Gotta put health first. This is high risk. A risk that can cost thousands to fix when something goes wrong. I bet ya gotta sign a waiver too, that prevents this person offering free or cheap treatments to not get sued into oblivion when something goes wrong, which is highly likely.

My issue is, the coming back 3-5 times thing. NEVER have I ever had to return once for a cleaning. This doesn't seem safe to me, and I don't want to risk my 30+years zero cavity perfect teeth to this sketchy return 3 or more times thing for a simple cleaning that should take less than an hour on a 1 time visit

Yes, In dental hygiene school we are required to meet requirements in order to graduate and thorough oral cancer screenings, every visit we do something different in the oral care process, I offer it free for my patients, but my school requires we say $27 in our post due to other student's needing patients that are not offering to pay for patients to sit for them. ( The 3 hours are not just for cleaning alone it involves other steps as I mentioned)

Aeronaut Brewery in Somerville hosts a board game meetup every Friday evening from about 7pm-11:30pm. Folks come weekly, bring their own games. It's open to the public so long as you are respectful of the space and of the games/people. They're a welcoming group and lots of different types of games. I try to attend at least biweekly on average. They're in the back room: the bartender can point you to their tables of games.

Welcome to the neighborhood!
