I had been doing a weekly sticky post with events I pulled from the city calendar and a prompt saying that anyone could post any event in the comments. I got lazy though and stopped doing it. I've picked making the post back up, but I haven't populated it with calendar events.

I like the idea of a trial period. Would probably want to to keep it to events in Cambridge proper.

This. See how it goes, then seek input after the trial period. I'd also consider just limiting it to a single post per event.
The other alternative is to do a sticky post for each week, and let all event promoters post within that as comments.

It sounds great if you do it for a trial period to see if it’s a good thing for the subreddit. Might put some add how far out from Cambridge would be acceptable.

Reply to comment by vhalros in Protesters force City Council into virtual meeting with chants to release name of officer in shooting - Cambridge Day by blackdynomitesnewbag
I don't get it either. This is why I'm glad the city hasn't released the name. They'd just go harass that officer at their home. All initial information seems to be pointing to the young man posing a danger to himself and others. They're doing an investigation and the officer is on administrative lead pending the results. There's not much more that is productive to be done. I'm considering writing to the city council to say this.

I don't get it. From the description, it doesn't sound like the officers had any other reasonable options. Now, officers description may not be accurate, which is why an investigation is taking place. But what is releasing the name going to accomplish, except harassing those officers regardless of any results?

He doesn’t do violin work AFAIK, but Gian Pangaro, located near Davis Sq might still be able to do this, or refer you to a luthier who can.
I had him do a full setup on my double bass a few years ago, he did great work!

I scrolled past this earlier today and thought “oh, neat”. I had no idea where it was.
Then about an hour ago I walked down this exact trail.

Yafa would be my pick too! Very kind people running the bakery and the chai is perfect. Very similar to Indian chai with cardamom

I’ve tried many chai lattes around and think that Yafa Bakery & Cafe (https://maps.app.goo.gl/zAJ2TQJeeNzAUdFc9?g_st=ic) on Somerville Ave has the best, most flavorful chai — most similar to what you’d get in India! (And they have lots of Middle Eastern treats to accompany your chai).
Am curious to hear other recommendations!!

Probably banging rods into the ground to build a high rise. I watched them do this for like 9 months at one dalton.

There is a construction project near Alewife that is pile driving for the next few months, maybe they were doing some off hours. I read somewhere else that they are behind schedule.
