Alternatively, the meter maids in Cambridge could chill. I've gotten parking tickets for not having a resident permit on the block I live which they put on the windshield in FRONT of my resident permit and still had an appeal denied.

Cambridge parking enforcement is just a shakedown. These meter maids are useless

You just admitted to having three parking tickets because you were over the time limit.
“Why am I penalized for breaking the rules; I only broke them a little?”

Hah! Yeah if you read the post at all you'd realize I do park legally. Thanks for being a kind stranger when I needed advice.

Have you tried parking legally?

Liquor stores are always a good bet.

If you bring cash to a BoA they generally won’t ask if you’re a customer and will give you quarters. As others have said, they usually limit you and that depends on the branch and when you go. I’ve been able to get between 0 and 4 rolls.

I collect the quarters for a few laundry machines, so I have a ton every week. I’m located near the Cambridge public library, so if you’d like to trade in cash for quarters let me know

Many banks were like that during the pandemic. My wife does BOA and my account is in Santander and both give quarters if your account is with them.

Some laundromats have a bill-to-quarter machine. You don't need to actually use the laundromat to use the machine. What I used to do was get a $20 as cash back from the grocery store, then transfer it to quarters at Belmont Street Laundry.

The T is somewhat safer, though, so there's that.

No factory! Made in house!

Broadway Marketplace (the overpriced little grocery store near the public library) gives rolls of quarters.

Pre-packaged from a factory? Or handmade by them?

Thanks, my visiting friend didn't want the prepackaged ones.

The BoA's that I went to were either giving out single rolls or NO rolls (said they were completely out) during most of the pandemic, and they would ask for your ATM card as verification that you were a customer.
Now they only give out single rolls per day. So you could go back the next day and get another roll. I asked when that policy would change and they said there were no plans to change it. I actually dumped BoA as a result.
Now I just talk to my landlord every other month and he gives me as many quarters as I want in exchange for cash.

Star market in porter. I've tried banks I don't have an account with and wasn't able to get quarters.

Ask your landlord. They might give you some of the coins from the coin-op laundry. Sounds like a joke, but it's not.
hotasspee t1_j63o77j wrote
you can get them from a bank without having an account, but they will probably try to limit you. during the pandemic I think the BofA in Porter was limiting account holders to four rolls per day, and non account holders to one or two per day.

Myers & Chang sells frozen dumplings. Gotta cross the river though. Do people still do that?
There’s also Mimi’s chuka diner, who have a residency at artifact cider in central square. You can order from their website too!
