What do you mean? That’s exactly what I intended to say with this post.

They have a Target, which I plan to start going to more regularly. I usually buy my basic items there but buy produce at H Mart.

Does Central Square even have a proper grocery store? Most of our options are the super-premium priced stores like Whole Foods and H Mart.

Daily Table is a gem. I love their quiche and soups. I was just missing their quiche today… 3$ or so for a whole thing, something I couldn’t make myself at home and damn tasty to boot

No!!!! Check out Daily Table — they have plain staples and are extremely cheap and I think mildly subsidized in some form

The way is Daily Table for staples (eggs, milk, vegetables, some meats) and Whole Foods for any other fancy stuff they don't have, evens out to be about the price of a normal grocery store.

Eggs there are 5.29, which was shocking enough.

Unfortunately there’s no market basket within easy walking distance of central (that I’m aware of). If you live near central your only walkable options for grocery stores are hmart and Whole Foods.

I'm not sure really. They just have more flavor. The yolks are more orangy?
tbh, I don't buy them either, I buy the cheap ones. But I love visiting my parents and having breakfast there because they buy the good ones and they are noticeably different.

I seconded this, and their meals are reasonably price, healthy, and delicious too.

How is it possible that they're better? Not doubting, I just don't understand what makes them different. They don't even have to be 4x better but if they were 10% better and 25% more expensive I would buy them.
bostonguy2004 t1_j3zqwvu wrote
Yeah, that's insanity and anyone who pays that much is an idiot.
Trader Joe's has organic eggs for like $5 a dozen.
Thank me later... ;)

Honestly, yes. They're very good if you're just eating them plain. Having expensive fried eggs for breakfast is so delicious. That being said, if you're just using them in something else I don't think it matters as much.

Quality kinda sucks though. Market Basket is GOATed. I go to HMart for the cheap citrus on clearance (6 pieces assorted citrus for $1! But use them within 3 days.)

Eggs are eggs, but to continue the analogy it's like going to Rare steakhouse at Encore and pointing out how expensive the $195 Tomahawk steak is when you can always just go to Frank's in Cambridge.
You took a picture of organic, free-range, pasture-raised eggs. Those kinds of eggs are always way more expensive no matter what the general cost may be, sort of like how high-end steakhouse steaks are more expensive than what you make at home or get at a more casual place.

Wow ok. I think I shopped there once in a pinch but I never lived in that area, only visited frequently. Still seems like a blow to the neighborhood though
