I got the very comparable “Red Heads” from CABELAS on Black Friday for $30. I’ve had mucks and I can’t tell you a difference.

I bought an hydraulic (not electric/motorized) one and I just LOVE it.
I worked full-time standing upright for the past two years now. No more lower back pain! I feel energized and much more productive.
EDIT: I obviously also have an anti-fatigue mat and I lie down in my bed for 5-15min breaks multiple times per day.

The boots themselves won’t last you for life, I’ve got a few pairs of clapped out boots from them.
But I will continue buying Muck boots for life, because the quality and comfort is amazing. Light, warm, great grip and obviously waterproof.

I don’t remember, I got them 10 years ago for 50% off at Macys.

I’ve got one of these for a couple years now and use it daily. I suspect unless I were to physically lose it somehow, I suspect I’ll be using it forever. I especially like the two layer filter and the fact that they included spare filters discs with the purchase!

Mine is stainless steel and also has an air gap in the walls so it keeps it hot for a very long time.

It was quite a few years ago - I don’t remember getting anything other than the leg assembly.

Reply to comment by pinche_avocado in SPEED QUEEN WASHERS; Are they worth it? Which model would be recommended for a large family, which does multiple loads of laundry a day. Doesn’t have to be fancy. It seems people choose SQ for their reliably, and quality, not because of the bells and whistles, or lack thereof… Thanks for any input!! by KaiBaird
I landed up washing stuff by hand to avoid them most of the time! But washing things on gentle does help and also using mesh delicates bags. Even with my own much gentler front loaders, I still like to wash things like leggings in them to keep them from getting tangled up. Also, make sure you sort your stuff by heavy versus light. Our doublefront work pants get their own loads, just like you do with towels.
The Speed Queens just seem to have a very aggressive agitator. Even back in the day when t-shirts were thicker, I went through so many of them!

I can feel the difference between sheets but I don't necessarily prefer higher thread count. I like heavy sheets and some sheets are heavier with lower thread counts. I have to feel each sheet in person to decide.

Are you sure that’s not the different materials or weave? Have you gotten the same species of cotton or whatever fiber in the same weave but at different thread thickness? Or are you comparing sateen weave polyester blend to linen percale?

New Fiesta, not the original, which was made long before microwaves came into use and is not safe for that purpose.

Have you tried linen? I’m similar and I found that after much trial and error I found that for me linen sheets and a linen quilt work well. I add a down comforter on top in the winter but the linen layers seem to keep me cool.
I also read somewhere while on this quest that a lower quality down comforter with a higher percentage of feathers can give you more heft and “cuddle” without the excessive warmth. I’m currently using an ikea comforter that is 90% feather and it’s working nicely.
