Reply to My first potato peeler (Sparschäler) I got this Sparschäler 10 years ago already used by my grand mother. It is still a mass product and you can buy it for round about 5 USD. But this one is made in West Germany so at least 33 years old and almost daily in use. by Secundus_Scipio
Can you sharpen it? Vegetable peelers are one of those things that people should replace every couple of years. You’ll see a world of difference in performance and reduce the risk of injury.

That’s true but if you have any interest in developing a love life, that can be a hard sell for some potential matches.

Yes it's really nice! Though I'm guessing that this luxury is included in the price this way or another.

My mom's refinished wood furniture as a hobby for decades; I'm certain she would strip and refinish them with tung oil - low gloss, very thin coats, brings out gorgeous luster in the grain.
ETA: I don't know if it can go on any kind of finish, but Howard Feed n Wax is nice for conditioning

Buy a Technivorm Moccamaster. It is not cheap, but has no electronics, and will last a very long time. And you can buy replacement parts if you need then. If the cost is too high, you can buy a factory refurbished model.

So, what I think is really good about Saddleback is their warranty. If you have a issue 30 years from now, they would solve it without any problem. I have never found a leather backpack with this warranty

My P38 can opener. My dad gave me his Korean war issue one, and it has, sadly, outlasted him...

Costco stands by their products. They keep digital receipts of your purchases so if you do have an issue with a product purchased at Costco, you can go and get it replaced. I'm sure some people have abused the system, but their policy (as far as I know) is to always replace the product, no questions asked (or refund if you don't want a replacement). Never had to use it myself, but it's one of the reasons I shop there.
