Pendleton sweaters (and blankets), and very weirdly LTT Store underwear (holding up better than my MeUndies)

I have a great Sony amp from 1995. It was passed down to me by my father. It cost 100$ in a pawn shop back then and gets used every single day. It sure doesn’t look that good but I’ll bet you 100$ no one can hear the difference.

If you think airpods are expensive audio gear, you are not the target demo for this kind of item.

Looks great with the lights in the room low as well. McIntosh running, lights down, and a glass of wine is a great way to unwind.

Brooks Brothers was given as a present by the Luxottica monopoly's owner to his idiot son, who ran it into the ground (what happened to giving your spoiled offspring a Ferrari?). Quality has gone down dramatically.

Thanks! I can’t justify any of their other products, the MC275 is a bit of a bargain compared to most of their catalog.

Not sure why the downvotes—there’s been a pretty significant tube shortage for the past couple of years. There are only a few factories that produce them. One closed recently, and another is in Russia where tubes were on the 2022 export ban list. This has caused musicians and audiophiles to hoard tubes, further exacerbating the supply-chain issue.
For those who don’t know, vacuum tubes have a limited lifespan. You can get 5-10 years out of a tube if you only use it occasionally and at low volumes, but if you use them several times a week at higher volumes, they’ll last maybe 2-3 years.
The possibility of tubes becoming unobtainable or prohibitively expensive is very real.

Absolutely. I use it about 2-3 hours a day, so I’m prepared to replace them any day now.

It’s relatively low power by modern standards, putting out 75 watts per channel, but I’ve never noticed any shortcomings.
Old pioneer gear was incredible, I’d say it’s absolutely worth getting yours back into operating order!

One way of looking at it would be analogous to commenting /r/tennis on a picture of a squash ball, or /r/AFL on a picture of a rugby ball... Similar equipment used for different sports.
EDIT: unless this is a deep cut /r/ultimate meme about shredding...

You've hit on what might limit it's lifespan there. Tubes. Eventually, at some point, the tubes will cease being made...

Please excuse me, I realise your question was directed at the Op but I can't resist. Mine was AC/DC Back In Black. Cranked all the way up to 11 because that is the only way to listen to that masterpiece.📢🎤🎸🥁📢

It was definitely lighter in color when I first purchased it. There is a money clip on the inside along with 4 card pockets (2 on each side). All I remember was the company was a small leather shop in the Montana / Wyoming / Minnesota / Wisconsin area of the US. The wallet came in multiple colors, however I chose the lighter version originally.
