I scored a Samsung Stick Vacuum on Black Monday and I LOVE it. Now I just use a hand broom & dust pan if it's something small...
This is out of your range, but had to say... if you're going to spring for something worthwhile...
My husband loves it even more than me. He vacuums more, now, too.

They didn't say that this allowed you to repair the motherboard, they said that this allowed you to repair the laptop. It does.
What you're saying is equivalent to if someone said they actually did repair a motherboard, but you pointed out that they didn't repair that resistor, they replaced it.

The only leather jacket I ever saw that I would consider buy it for life was a friends Harley Davidson that was made out of bison hide or something. It was very thick and dated back from the sixties.
I have been looking for anything like it. No luck. Maybe something custom made would suit, but I can't afford that.

Speed Queens do not damage clothes. I have owned a Speed Queen washer for several years and my clothes are fine. And they are quite clean.

I've seen the question posed but can only see options from the states in replies.
Thinking of something like a Barbour hunting jacket... But in leather.

That’s cool! We weren’t allowed to purchase our own locks for school, had to use the ones they issued.

The problem is that we have become a throwaway society. I still remember appliance repair shops (toasters and the like) back in the 70s. Most people now look at price first and quality second. Before the age of computer design, most good engineers followed the rule of three. Make it three times stronger than you need, now with computers it's design slightly above margin.

For most things, secondhand will do the job. But for reducing waste and having a usable/reliable computer, OP's scenario seems like the better way to go. Especially if/when more widely adopted.

The question here is not about a sewing machine. Or maybe not only. It's a more general one, about why there is no market for devices that can be easily disassembled and maintained. Or maybe there is only I'm not aware of the right term

At least it's a real Made in Canada Dudley lock that actually works... Not the current made in China version which is absolutely terrible.
With that said, these are actually pretty easy to figure out the combination on.

We have a front load speed queen washer and it has not missed a beat in 3 years of heavy use.
CamelHairy t1_jat3khv wrote
If you want a sewing machine that will outlast you, go look in a few antique stores and purchase a Singer or White pedal powered unit. Both will be over 100 years old, and both will still have all the major parts available, and both will still be working 100 years from now.

It’s easy to spot because I colored in the white lines with hot pink sparkly gel pen. Ugh.

There are only two brands to look at if you want longetivity (+25 years). Maytag Commercial and Speed Queen. Both are made with commercial parts.
Both come with 5 year warranties, Speed Queen is all metal in its internals, and the Speed Queen homeowner models have the same internals as their commercial units.
If your water conscious Both have an Eco mode to comply with US regulations.
We have had our Speed Queen front loader washer and dryer going on 10 years, with no problems. They replaced a piece of junk Frigidaire Neptune set that were constantly breaking down after year three. We also saw no difference in wash quality from the Frigidaire or the Speed Queen.
While you may find the Maytag Commercial line in the big box stores, make sure it is the model with the 5 year warranty and not the cheaper made 1 year warranty. Speed Queen can only be found at independent appliance dealers.

Broom for what? I have a couple Roborocks that do most of the upkeep and then my wife just picks up wherever she wants.

Speed Queens last a long time and are easy to fix but they are immensely wasteful in terms of water usage, are more likely to damage clothes, and may not actually be that good at cleaning. So if your priority is BIFL over everything else, they are good.
Otherwise, I would personally recommend Miele or Bosch which are well made but efficient and gentle.

Thank you so much! Ok so I'll go ahead and try the microfiber towels, pretty sure they won't scratch it or anything. Idk how long you've had your cooker for, but have you had to buy a replacement bowl? Sorry for all the questions, I just really want to make an informed purchase.
And alright you truly have sold me on thoroughly washing my rice! I will getting a $10 rice washer as you suggested :D I thought people were just being overly anal xd
