My son had a pair of obermeyer snowpants that did that -- also from a consignment shop. I was happy because snowpants are great to have but not used as much as a jacket.

Mine are a combo of GoToobs and Stax (both by the brand Human Gear) for things like shampoo/cleansers and Nalgene containers for things like mouthwash that need a tight screw top lid. Love them! Dishwasher safe and BIFL.
In fact, I lost a few caps to my GoToobs and emailed Human Gear to ask how I could buy more, and they sent me a bunch for free saying that it is part of their lifetime guarantee.
The design of the Stax is nicely space-saving.

I had a pair of Mephisto boots that lasted me almost 10 years of constant wear. Loved them! I wore them hiking and slipped in a stream, and punctured the side. Had I understood then, that I could have taken them in for repairs, I’m sure they still would be great now. My second favorite pair was from REI, Obōz, and they have lasted 4 years now, with almost daily wear.

Shinola has fabricated history and "provenience". it was founded in 2011 by the co-founder of Fossil. It's a fake brand.

REI has some good travel toiletry sets that I’ve used for years. I’ve lost them before having any break. The ones we had were made from a flexible silicon, I believe.

Man this is actually pretty damn cool. Normalizing not buying a hundred dollar jacket twice when you can donate it or give it to a loved one. I’m impressed.

Levi, to me, seems the longest lasting jeans. You should be able to get years out of one pair of jeans, and they have a quality guarantee. Usually around €100-120 per pair

Well I use KLEAN-HEAT, and it puts off very little in comparison to Kerosene.
I keep it in my garage which is a little drafty, but have heated my house with it when we lose power. If you have any daylight windows or anything, you may want to crack a window just for air movement/safety.

I used to work at the Children's department at Macy's, and a bunch of the pants had extendable waistbands and pant legs, so I think they could increase by 2-3 sizes. Pretty cool since they grow so fast! Customers would usually ask what all those extra buttons were for.

What kind of exhaust does this put off, u/biggswiggins ?
I want something that could heat my basement if a blizzard ever knocked out my power. How much ventilation would it need?

Awww, I was the third child, so I understand this very well. Except our name was usually written on the neck tag. Back in the 70's-80's when clothes were meant to be handed down. Then some of my stuff went on to my nephews. Poor boys, having to use their mother's stuff from the 70's 😂

You can buy them configured with different sets of burner BTUs, usually you'd have a small BTU one in the back for stuff you want to simmer and higher ones in the front for hot cooking or wok'ing.
I've never had any problems with getting low heat, but do have to put covered stuff to simmer on the smaller back burner.
