The way most people use sheets is the take pair A off the bed and put on pair B then wash pair A.
10 years of daily use, or 20 years of rotational use is a good result from sheets.
The cleaner you go to bed, the better the sheets last too (less grit to rub against the fabric)
Finally, the kind of sleeper you are plays a big part. People who move around a lot will wear the sheets faster.

I had same sheets growing up for probably 20+ years. The ones we have now (lands end) have lasted almost that long. Neither of these were particularly expensive, just pretty good quality.
Given I’m well over 50, I figured if there was a higher quality manufacturer out there, I might well be able to buy it for MY life :)

You do need to realize no sheet is actually going to be "buy it for life"
Your body will rub on the fabric causing wear. Unlike the handle of a hammer which can lose a few mm of substance and still hold up, that wear on a sheet will make a top quality sheet fail in about 10 years of daily use

Interesting! I will try this ::-)

Do you test it out randomly to see if it's still sending and receiving! Looks mint.

Did you have to use it? I hope not. These are the types of things you hope you don't have to use.

When you buy a cell phone, you are better off thinking about it as a fixed term support contact, and not as a hardware purchase. One version of the hardware costs less than two Android major version updates and thirty security updates.

Totally get it. Hope you keep it alive for many more years. Just a shame (like many others) that with popularity Dyson’s quality has diminished.

Main problem is not the leather but the shape, see my other comments with pictures!

I understand the sentiment here - but keep in mind that sheep will literally die if they are not sheared.
It’s necessary (and humane), us humans are lucky enough to benefit from the the outcome. It would be such a shame to waste.

Oh no! I keep mine in a side table drawer in the living room because I file my nails while watching TV. It hasn’t met my tile floors.

My work gave me a really cheap water bottle that didn't even make it a year,
There's nothing more annoying than getting a water bottle, coffee cup or a travel coffee thermos. They're all going to be cheap crap and probably own plenty of them already. I recently took a dozen water bottles to Goodwill. My son got one for joining the scouts. He got one for joining the National Honor Society. He got one as a gift for getting into high school. The other son got one for marching band, for joining the school e-sports team, for joining the concert choir. That's 6 water bottles just for my 2 kids. Then I had a half dozen work had given me over the years from various events.
All of these are cheap plastic water bottle with no insulation that sweat all day. Rounded them all up, took them to Goodwill, and bought 4 nice insulated water bottles that are well built. Told everyone not to accept water bottle any more.
I also have an entire shelf of branded ceramic coffee mugs. Coffee mugs are really BIFL items. Unless you drop it, it's going to last forever. But do I really need that many coffee mugs? There are 1 or 2 I might keep, like one with the 90s rainbow Apple logo. But what do I do with a coffee mug from a company I worked for 20 years ago that doesn't even exist?

Old Dysons are “okay”. But I certainly wouldn’t consider any new Dyson vacuum anywhere near BIFL quality.
BIFL = corded and bagged Miele, SEBO or Lindhaus
Cordless & Bagless = disposable toy (shark and dyson)

They have pillows that are filled with Buckwheat hulls, beans72 is a good brand, that offer excellent support and are great for people with sensitive neck/backs. I also went through many different pillows before finding these and now I only use them, take them with me when I travel, etc. Sounds goofy but totally works.

Reply to What is a good BIFL backpack, around 30-35L for a laptop, tablet, work gear and a change of clothes? by clippervictor
I really love my osprey ozone backpack. It has two side pockets that can each accommodate a 40oz hydroflask. The only drawback is it is 28l and that’s gets full quick. But I can fit my med kit and large lunchbox into the main pocket. If you need something bigger than that I really loved my Oakley Kitchen Sink for 8 years it carried everything I would need in a day and it still looks really good. I believe it’s a 36l or 38l.
