I'm just saying if you really want an outdoor municipal grade, that would be the approach.

Sferra has nice sheets like this. Im not sure how to wash properly though. I bleached because they are white, then the stripe turned pink. Any idea how to wash the pictured set properly?

Thule Stir 35 or Errant by boundarysupply. I have used Errant for business trips and personal trips quite a bit over 5 years. It’s held up pretty good. My friend has Thule and says that it’s very comfortable.

I've been looking for a good nail file, just not sure how I feel about spending that much on one though...

I just had my high school Jansport repaired for free last month, so I totally agree with you.
I tend to hate branded swag anyway because they're so wasteful. Most people don't want something with their boss' company name all over it. In lieu of a Christmas gift during Covid, my employer gave everyone branded blankets and jackets. There is no way to remove the logo, and I have since moved out of state to a place that's unfamiliar with this company, so if I donate it, no one will know who the hell they are, and it'll probably end up in a landfill.

I’ve dumpster dove to save a well used but perfectly functional OGIO with no regrets whatsoever. It’s used daily.

My Swiss army back-ack (not surplus, bought on campus new) is showing no signs of wearing out after 10 years.

Speed queen. The simpler the better. Friends don't let friends buy fancy appliances.

I’m in love with my Ikea pans. Bought them in ‘06 after Katrina moved us north and still have them.
Have lost a few lids, but that’s just a note and a trip back for new lids.

Reminds me of a Christmas present a corporation I worked at a few years ago gave everyone. The shittiest, cheapest water proof speaker ever. They gave so many employees something that I promise you, they threw away in a few months, if not immediately.

Reply to comment by Man_of_Prestige in is this air purifier good enough for a 3x4 room? by JOOOQUUU
This is a very important question because it takes a specialty purifier to remove odors and most of the units on the market will not do this.
pan567 t1_ja0z88j wrote
Do you mean a 3 meter by 4 meter room? A room that is only 3 feet by 4 feet seems like it would be a little small...even if it was a bathroom or a closet.
The unit should list CFM, CADR, or both. This is the best way to approximate how appropriate the unit is for a specific room. If it does not list this, then I would strongly advise not purchasing it. I would also want to know more details on the filter itself. For example, what kind of a filter is it, what is the filter change interval, and how expensive are replacement filters?
Finally, with the absolute minimal details listed on the box, I would assume that this system (like most of the consumer units) is going to cover particulate filtration only (i.e., particulate matter, or PM). It will not reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or nitrogen oxides, which would require a chemical filtration component that only specialized purifiers have. And as it does not remove VOCs, it will not make a meaningful impact on odors other than moving the air around (large carbon filters are needed to actually remove odors through the process of adsorption, which are available with specialty purifiers.)
If the room is 12 feet by 16 feet, that is about 200 square feet. You would be very amply covered by something like a Winix 5500-2, which would provide a high level of air exchanges even on a lower (quieter) fan setting. The 5500-2 can be purchased for as little as $150 and replacement filters are reasonably priced. Energy usage and noise is also very reasonable. Like most of the consumer filters, it covers particulate filtration but does not make meaningful impacts on VOCs or NOx.

Stainless. My wishlist is Demeyer stainless but there are a few brands out there. Just make sure you buy multi-ply and for frying pans you want multi-ply up the sides of the pan layers for even heating and better heat retention. For large soup pots a less expensive stainless steel disc bottom pan is going to do the same job as a more expensive one that also has a disc bottom - I have some 20+ year old Faberware 6 Quart and 8 Quarts that do as good as anything else.

second the comments re Osprey and Tom Bihn. i have an Osprey backpack i've had for like 10 years that is still in amazing condition.
i got a Timbuk2 bag to carry my laptop and gym stuff when i still commuted in NYC, that is decent and has held up for like 5 years now, though i'd note that it does show wear on the edges.

Looks like they are currently out of stock but they own their manufacturing facility so they usually come back pretty quick
