JB Goodhue ironworker boots are extremely comfortable and very light compared to most. The treads wear quicker than most but thats the tradeoff for secure footing and traction. They break in fast as the leather isnt stiff.
The JB Goodhue boots fit large so best to try them on first. Generally ironworker or rigger boots are more comfortable than most in my experience.

Just be careful using those (especially steel wool) too often / too hard, as they can take off some of the material. Not that much material, so it doesn't matter for cast iron since it's so thick, but for a copper bottom pan it's often a pretty thin coat of copper.

Look at this picture from behind:

See how the entire shoe, especially the left one, is leaning outwards? The soles were worn on the outside before I re-soled them and the leather stayed in that shape even after re-soling. I wonder if that can be fixed. But yes maybe contacting Red Wing is the way to go. I hope I don't have to ship them to the US since that will probably cost a lot..

I’d take advice of the guy that said contact the redwing people. I’m a bit unsure what you’re saying, I see only one photo of the toe side. I know people have resolved 5-6 times.

Modal is the best material you can get for clothing. It's made from birch trees and lasts forever without pilling. Extremely soft.

They are skewed outwards which makes them uncomfortable. I wear on the outside of the sole and I probably waited too long with re-soling so the leather is shaped that way now. Look at the picture from behind.

Maybe. Are the laces tightened enough? Are your feet rubbing? Or is it the insole? In which case maybe a resole would fix that. I like my shoes to be a nice tight fit, and sometimes the laces stretch/leather stretches so a good tug never hurts.

They’re fantastic. I broke the lid on one of mine (after 4 years of college abuse), and they sent me 4 replacement lids for free, no questions asked.

I can’t see anything wrong with them unless soles are worn, in which case they can be resoled

They are not comfortable any longer, they are skewed outwards. I think I waited too long to re-sole them.

Reply to What is a good BIFL backpack, around 30-35L for a laptop, tablet, work gear and a change of clothes? by clippervictor
CamelBak H.A.W.G I bought mine at least 10 years ago. I used it over the years as a day pack carrying a laptop and camera gear within separate pouches or when flying or mountain biking …
To this day it shows absolutely no sign of wear whatsoever. I do t have the largest size but what was back then the medium sized version. The layout has changed slightly over time. Best and most durable backpack I ever had.
These are soft packs and depending on how you pack them they can be slimmed down or blown up in volume with a strap system. The zippers are amazing and after all these years of abuse are still smooth and never failed.
I would always buy one of these again without a question. I have a plain black one for discretion so it does not scream military. The level of utility with its webbing and combination of good quality pouches (I like to use old school Domke cotton camera gear pouches) to pack this backpack is amazing.

They look perfect to me. Just the wray the leather warps to people's feet. I often busy hand made English shoes on ebay seconds hand in this condition. After about 10 hours they warp to my feet and fit like a glove.

And they usually over-estimate that, so take large numbers promised by a small air purifier with a grain of salt. Look for the CADR figure, and if they don't post that prominently on the packaging there's probably a really good reason why and you should look elsewhere.

I needed a bag for same set of requirements. Went with fjallraven kanken. Very happy with it, it's nearly indestructible with a lot of wonderful design choices.

I’m going to look into that brand, when I need to replace my Dyson. It used to be a good brand, I’m not sure what happened. My folks bought the original Dyson and it has lasted well over 10 years.
