I have a set of Keen boots I've used for two years here on the farm - wet, mud, and the occasional cow stepping on my foot. Been pleased with them so far. I do have a set of Redwings but I find them to be heavy and stiff.

My son has a pair of Filsons he really likes but if you think Redwings are expensive . . .

Second vote for Redwing. I know boots are expensive but I plan on being able to walk for about 20-30 years after I retire. Spend the extra money on good boots!

Check out fairphone and the essentials laptop. Both are modular in design and built with repair ability in mind. It’s not BIFL but I think they have a set of good principles towards product design that resonates in this community
