I like the upper tier of the ikea down pillow. It has a double (or triple?) structure, with a different percentage of down / feathers in the chambers to make it soft but filled. As a side effect the filling doesn't move that much during the night :)
Edit: it's the Bergven that another commenter linked (thanks DoctorJuveTurkey!!): https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/bergven-pillow-high-00460228/

You don't know what you're talking about. I buy the finest footwear on the planet. La Sportiva mountaineering boots. I take 40,000 steps a day.

Unless you’re stewing tomato cause for hours in a pan (you’re probably not) a cast iron / carbon steel is an all purpose pan. Consider carbon steel if you don’t like cast iron.
As for stainless: Demeyere, All clad, American kitchen (look for anything that is fully clad, 3 ply, 18/10 stainless and it will last a lifetime)

Demeyere and American Kitchen are arguably the same or better than all clad.

Completely untrue. Many of their models are still made in the US and are fantastic quality.
Don’t buy cheap boots and you won’t have that problem.

Redwing would be my vote but they're pricey for a lot of people. I get $150 for my boot allowance so I still had to pay $150 out of pocket for mine but they're solid.

I just watched a guy who did a deep review of some "cheap" workbooks; cheap being relative here as there are some expensive boots in his review.
Whats nice is he checks safety & comfort.

There have been a lot more than 1 lawsuit on Egyptian Cotton. Plus, most companies buy their cotton from a distributor, who buys that off the open market. I can’t believe that anyone would honestly think they are getting “Egyptian cotton” with their Costco sheets or whatever. There are few companies that buy direct rather it be Supima, Pima, or Upland or Giza 45. Regardless, it is best to buy from a company buying directly from the farm or growing it themselves like Red Land Cotton- their sheets are the best anyway

White’s and Nicks are going to be the best but unfortunately out of the price range. I see a couple pairs of Danner boots that meet your requirements. No idea if you find them attractive though.

It's all about having one more option really. Planned obsolescence is a fairly recent trend.

Our Maytag Signature series has been a good purchase but they dont make them anymore. Going on 10 years of reliable service for a big family. I did replace a $25 hose assembly and a $75 pump about a year ago.

Not necessarily. My Maytag washer & dryer are still going strong after 29 years with no upgrades.
But some people buy all new kitchen appliances for the color.

Modularity is part of making it last.

I think there’s an opportunity for disruption in appliances by designing BIFL. They’d likely get a large market share but once the market is saturated with their products, overall sales in the category would drop.
Probably someone in the biz has data on how often appliances are replaced for appearance or new features, rather than breakage.

On the subject of modularity, with the waterproofing and USBC, we are seeing the phone/tablet losing hardware features and becoming a "pure" computer these days. I would argue that with gadget/appliance makers putting in Bluetooth/WiFi connection and integrate with a phone app, it's a way of making the phone "modular".
Instead of buying an expensive modular camera part for my modular phone, buy a mirrorless camera with Bluetooth and now that can send photos to any phones
And if someone really want high quality analogue audio, instead of the headphone jack in the phone, they can buy a DAC that's dedicated to doing just that.
Outside of stuff like machine learning or graphics processing, IMO a modern phone don't really need to be updated for a while. With stuff like cloud gaming and other cloud based services being more common place, it's likely that we only need a simple device that's capable of streaming content.
Edit, just saw your comment about laptops. I hold similar views there, I think they are getting to a size that more or less plateaued, there's not much to gain to make them even thinner. Yet I also don't think they need to be modular anymore, when USBC gives you all the expandability. Webcam, WiFi chip, display, even graphics card, plug it into the USBC port and it's done. While any more involved processing would be done on the cloud.
